Letters from some of our customers

Hello Noel

> First of all, a long long overdue thankyou for making our 4 day trip in November such a highlight and success. I have to say that as Alex is not a good traveller we entered the trip with some trepidation but your knowledge, smooth driving and canny ability to
> sense when a break was necessary meant that the miles (and there were a lot) went by and we were not tired. I suppose that most tourists are keen to see the wildife and whilst we are no exception to that and enjoyed the euros, emus etc, we were particularly pleased that you gave us such an all round view of the country ranging from the phenomenal scenery and geology to the plantlife to the people and places. Your personal experience of having lived in the area gave the trip a much more personal flavour as we associated places with events in your life (such as your old school as we drove home)and then at Parachilna (home of the best Kangaroo Burger in the world) where your niece worked.
>
> The trip was a succession of highlights and of particular mention staying in Melrose and then Wilpena Pound itself. The climb that we did at Wilpena up to the top of Mount Ohlssen Bagge was the single most rewarding thing we did-what views, colours all round plus a good bit of exercise. Added to that
the 'discount' flight (typical Scots)over the Pound and the Heysen ranges gave such a vivid picture both of what it looks like currently but also what has happened since the land was formed.

> In summary a great trip where we enjoyed the country and your company and came away wanting more. Finally I could not finish without complimenting Mrs Battersby on her home cooking-the scones and buns were great!
> All the very best and thanks again for a memorable visit.

Dear Noel, just a note to thank you for a wonderful trip. Tony and I had the best time ever. Your knowledge of the area and your easy going ways made our holiday really enjoyable. I am back at work and regailing all my colleagues about my adventures.

Thanks again.

On May 3rd 2004 at 8:00am we were collected from North Adelaide by Noel Battersby and began a wonderful holiday.
As a family group of 5, all drivers and all in our 70+ years, we were very comfortable in the air conditioned vehicle with a trailer for our luggage.
We found Noel to be well informed about everything we wanted to know friendly and with a well fitted up picnic setup for lunches each day. The time table meant that we did not have to leave too early, nor finish each day too late. The fee covered our meals and accomodation and our only extras were for any souvenirs we wanted to pick up along the way and the flight over Lake Eyre. We felt very happy with the value and found the places we visited made an interesting view of inland South Australia. When we dropped off to sleep from time to time, we were roused to see anything new we were about to miss.
Glendambo, Coober Pedy, William Creek, Blinman, and back to Adelaide were stayover points, but there were many interesting stops along the way.
We all would recommend this tour, especially if you can catch it, as we did, after rain.

Dear Noel,
I said that I would send a message when we were safely back in England and at last I am doing so! It has taken the last ten days to catch up with things and start the rush towards Christmas. Our remaining time in Australia was busy and action-packed but the Flinders Trip was the high-spot.
We have just had our photographs back and they bring back wonderful memories of our three days and the care you took to show us so much so knowledgeably and pleasantly.

Four of us wanted to do a two week trip around the outback and Flinders Ranges and contacted LeisureTime Travel after looking at their website. We told Noel where we wanted to go, what sort of activities we wanted to do, that two of us needed vegetarian food, and a couple of other restrictions on travel arrangements. Nothing fazed him. He sent us an exciting looking itinerary, and we booked. Once the tour began, we quickly came to realise our good fortune in our choice of tour guide. Noel was everything one could wish for: an excellent driver, knowledgeable about a wide variety of aspects of the region, with a wealth of experience in just about every activity the area had to offer and a great fund of stories, friendly, sociable, good-natured and easy-going, with a gentle sense of humour, reliable and well-organised. He was always ready to help with our various requirements. In short, a great bloke. (It was also a great source of comfort in our travels in the outback to know that he was a skilled motor mechanic, although this skill was fortunately never needed. The Toyota behaved impeccably.)

His wife Thelma provided home cooked lunches of such excellence that we asked for the recipes. We had a marvellous and memorable trip, and highly recommend Noel and his company for any tour you might be thinking of making.

Dear Noel and Paul,

Just a quick email to thank you both very much for making our trip to Lake Eyre so enjoyable. It was a very different experience for all of us and something we will never forget. We all appreciated the relaxed pace, your knowledge of the outback and your great company! Going back to work this week has been very difficult. Aiden is busy putting together his presentation for "show and tell" when he gets back to school next week- he hasn't stopped talking about his experiences since we returned. And we've already started to plan our next trip- Cooper creek I think. Thanks once again for everything and we'll be in touch..................

Best wishes, Debra, Derwin and Aiden

Hi Noel,

Just a note of thanks for giving us such a great holiday. We had a really terrific time and have told everyone about it. It doesn't take long to get back into gear once we are back at work though. Our holiday seems "ages ago"!!! Peter made Thelma's salad as we had 2 lots of visitors for tea last week. The response was as appreciative as ours.....they loved it!!! THANKS Thelma!!

Kind regards, Jan and Peter.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip up to Lake Eyre. We haven't slept so well or so long for ages and we feel quite rested. We wish we had both the time and the money to go back almost immediately--there is so much more to see and experience. Also the fruitcake was lucious!!!

The trip was marvellous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Anne Quast
