Day 1
Travel direct to Glendambo
(or Wirraminna Station) see Pt. Augusta, the Arid Lands Gardens and
Lake Hart, stay overnight at the Desert Oasis of Glendambo. Day 2 Travel up the Stuart Highway to Coober Pedy. Explore some attractions in this unique town, visit the Breakaways for a spectacular sunset (weather permitting). Overnight accommodation in an underground Motel. Day 3 Travel to William Creek and visit Lake Eyre North, access by a 4WD track through the vast Anna Creek Station, the largest cattle station in the world (the size of Belgium) to a real wilderness area around this vast salt lake. An optional scenic flight is available at own cost at approx $115.00 pp (see the Wrights Air Site for details). Overnight at the William Creek Hotel, basic accommodation with ensuite facilities. Day 4 Travel south along the famous Oodnadatta Track, visit the unique Mound Springs, Coward Springs, Curdimurka, Lake Eyre South, Marree, Lyndhurst Ochre Cliffs on the way to Leigh Creek for our overnight stay at the Outback Resort. Day 5 Travel East through the Flinders ranges to the Gammon Range National Park and on to the Arkaroola Wilderness Resort. There will be a opportunity for a walk through Weetootla Gorge into the Gammon Range National Park and or visit Grindels Hut. Day 6 Take the famous Ridge Top Tour in the morning and after lunch either take a bush walk or a 4wd waterhole tour, stay overnight at Arkaroola. Day 7 Travel through the central Flinders Ranges, the spectacular Brachina Gorge Geological Trail. Stay overnight at Melrose the first town in the Flinders Ranges. Optional scenic flight over Wilpena Pound at own cost (recommended). Day 8 Tour
the Southern Flinders Ranges through private property, see magnificent
views of the ranges and Spencer Gulf. Travel through the Clare Valley
to Adelaide via the beautiful “Skilly” Road. |
