Day 1 Travel to Marree, past Wilpena Pound, through Brachina Gorge, the vast Leigh Creek Coal fields & Lyndhurst the start of the Strezleki Track. Stay overnight at the Leigh Creek Tavern Motel (with ensuite). Day 2 Marree to William Creek following the Old Gahn Rail corridor, along the famous “Oodnadatta Track” stopping at Curdimurka - Lake Eyre Sth the “Mound Springs “Strangways” Overland Telegraph historic site & overnight stay at William Creek (cabins or hotel depending on availability) have a drink in a real 'Outback Pub' see a photo . Day 3 William Creek to Oodnadatta - visit historic sites and the huge railway bridge at Algibuckina at the Neales river which flows into Lake Eyre. (optional early flight over Lake Eyre available) must be booked prior to departure, we will book (but extra cost of approx. $115pp) see the Wrights Air Site for details . Day 4 Oodnadatta to Mt. Dare in the Witjira Natational Park. Stop for a swim & explore the Dalhousie springs - the largest thermal spring complex in Australia. Day 5 Mt. Dare to Evelyn Downs cattle station visit the Painted Desert, and take a walk in this spectacular area. Day 6 Evelyn Downs to Coober Pedy, arrive in Coober Pedy in time for a look around the opal capital of the world where the underground lifestyle is unique. Day 7 Return to Pt. Augusta calling at Glandambo & Woomera, the once secret Rocket Range town & the rocket display. Price includes: 6 nights accom. (some share facilities) Continental breakfasts, midday meals morning teas, evening meals (main course) Some accom. will be cabin or “station” with Underground at Coober Pedy. (please advise if above ground required - may be a surcharge) single supp not available at some venues extra cost where available.
