| Four Day Flinders Ranges Tour Four days of the Southern and Central Flinders Ranges Highlights Departing from Adelaide |

Day 1 Travels through the Clare Valley wine growing area (visit a winery) and on to the Pt Germein Gorge then follow an old stock route (4WD) with panoramic views of Spencers Gulf and the Southern Flinders Ranges. Stay overnight in Melrose the oldest town in the Flinders Ranges. Day 2 Travels north, visit and walk through Alligator Gorge in the Mt. Remarkable National Park on to Quorn, Hawker, Moralana Scenic Drive and a walk into Black gap. This drive gives views of the Elder Ranges and the southern wall of the Wilpena Pound. We then drive north on the western side of the range to Parachilna for a stop at the famous Prairie Hotel. Stay overnight at the Blinman Hotel which offers excellent meals with an outback atmosphere. Day 3 We travel past the Great Wall of China rock formation to the Flinders Ranges National Park to see Brachina Gorge geological trail where you will see one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth and ancient fossils. Then into Aroona Valley and through Bunyeroo Gorge and scenic Drive to the Wilpena Pound Centre and resort for our overight stay Day 4 Take a scenic flight over the pound (the best way to see this magnificent feature of the Flinders Ranges) at an extra cost approx. $80pp. We return to Adelaide via Cradock, Orrorroo, and Burra with a brief stop in this historic old copper mining town for a lunch break and then on to Adelaide Optional tour available which stays two nights at WILPENA POUND RESORT. The attractions visited are the same . |
