Three days of the Flinders Ranges Highlights

Day 1: travels through the Clare Valley wine growing area and on to the Pt Germain Gorge then follow an old stock route with panoramic views of Spencers Gulf and the southern Flinders Ranges. Stay overnight in Melrose the oldest town in the Flinders ranges.

Day 2: travels north through Quorn, Hawker, Moralana Scenic Drive and a walk into Black gap. This drive gives views of the Elder Ranges and the southern wall of the Wilpena Pound. We then drive north on the western side of the range to Parachilna for a stop at the famous Prairie Hotel.

Stay overnight at the Blinman Hotel which offers excellent meals with an outback atmosphere.

Day 3: we travel past the Great Wall of China rock formation to the Brachina Gorge, you will see one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth and ancient fossils. We visit the Wilpena Pound Centre and take a scenic flight over the pound (the best way to see this magnificent feature of the Flinders Ranges) at extra cost approx. $90pp. We return to Adelaide via Cradock a true "one hotel" town, Orrorro, and Burra with a brief stop in this historic old copper mining town.
